The genealogy of Christ shows us that He is descended from certain men, is the recipient of the promises of salvation made to them, and that kind of Savior He came to be. In our passage, we see 4 truths about Christ from His genealogy that should cause us to rejoice in the newborn king.

Though Christians are those who share in the life of Christ by faith and now walk in the light and have been cleansed of their sin, we still will sin. When we sin, we must not deny it or cover it up, but must confess our sins, trusting that God is faithful and just to forgive us.
